The Discovery
In 2025, the celebrated South African guitarist Derek Gripper sent me a video with a simple note: "You absolutely must book her."
I hadn't heard of her at the time, but the video—her own solo arrangement of Rachmaninoff’s Prelude in C# minor—blew me away. I wasn't the only one; that performance has now amassed over 2.4 million views. That guitarist was Edith Pageaud.
It was immediately apparent that Edith possessed a unique musical voice and a depth of phrasing rarely seen in her generation. It came as no surprise to learn she had recently swept several major international competitions, taking first prizes across France, Italy, and Austria.
I reached out to her on Instagram, and she wrote back immediately. That message sparked a collaboration that led to me sponsoring her 3-year American work visa and launching her debut USA tour earlier this year.
Out of all the artists I have booked, I have never seen audience responses quite like hers. I joke with Edith that she casts a "secret magic" over the room. The sheer volume of heartfelt messages we receive after her shows is a true testament to the deep connection she forms with her audiences—not just through her brilliant playing, but through her radiant presence on stage.
I truly hope you can join us in Portland for what will be a transformative evening of music.
