Eleonora Strino Duo

Hailed as one of the most compelling new voices in European jazz, the Eleonora Strino Duo blends the warmth of the Mediterranean with the gritty, driving swing of the American bebop tradition. The project is led by the Neapolitan virtuoso Eleonora Strino, who was recently featured on the cover of Jazz Guitar Today as one of the defining talents of the modern scene. She is joined by the award-winning pianist Claudio Vignali, whose classical background and improvisational fire provide the perfect foil to Strino’s playing.

Strino’s rise has been meteoric. With a viral following and a bestselling instructional book distributed worldwide, she recently made history as the first woman to join the legendary touring group "The Great Guitars" (originally founded by Barney Kessel), standing shoulder-to-shoulder with icons like Martin Taylor and Ulf Wakenius. Her 2023 album I Got Strings, recorded with legends Joey Baron and Greg Cohen, further cemented her status as a heavy hitter in the genre.

At the heart of this duo is a deep lyrical connection. While they masterfully navigate the complex harmonies of the Great American Songbook, they also weave in the cinematic melodies of their Italian heritage—reimagining themes from Il Postino or Neapolitan classics with a sophisticated modern jazz vocabulary.
